27 majaInternational Sea Yawl Voyage
Dear BUP students, You are kindly invited to take part in our brand new BUP event the International Sea Yawl Voyage.
In collaboration with Kaliningrad State Technical University, we will for the first time be setting sails in this new summer conference for students. During six days, we will be sailing the waters of the Curonian Lagoon, on the route: Polessk -Lesnoye (Curonian Spit) -Iyulskoye -Polessk.
Together with invited experts, we will be studying the unique environment and culture of the south east corner of the Baltic sea. The conference will take place on small sailing boats, also known as yawls, which the participants will sail together with professional instructors.
It has become an annual tradition of Kaliningrad State Technical University to organize a Sea Yawl Voyage for students and staff of the educational complex (KSTU, BFFSA, Kaliningrad Marine Fishing College) and Gdynia Maritime Universityat the end of July each year. But this will be the first time the Baltic University Programme takes part and that students from the entire region has the chance to join. For international participants, there will also be the possibility to get an introductory city tour of Kaliningrad, visit the Amber Museum, the shores of Lake Verkhnee, the mid-19thcentury fortress tower, the “Museum of the World Ocean” and the Quay of the historic fleets.
