BUP’s 35-year celebratory webinars

To celebrate the Programme’s 35th anniversary in 2026, we will host a series of webinars dedicated to sustainability and the ten BUP themes. All BUP colleagues are invited to contribute and are welcome to apply to give a presentation. We are looking for presentations that are engaging and accessible to a broad, non-expert audience. The content of each webinar will address sustainability and one of the ten BUP themes, and may take the form of a lecture, workshop, seminar, or similar format. The webinars are preliminarily planned to take place once a month, and the final schedule (dates and times) will be coordinated with the selected contributors. The deadline for applications for the first webinars to be held in spring 2026 is 14 December 2025. Read more about the celebratory webinars on our website.

BUP research news

Scholars at BUP participating universities are invited to share the results of their research for dissemination within the Programme. The research should have a connection to sustainable development in a Baltic Sea Region context. This is a way to increase the reach of your research as well as an opportunity for colleagues around the Baltic Sea Region to find possible collaborators for future research. A researcher or research project will get highlighted on the BUP's LinkedIn and in the BUP Weekly. Information connected to the research, as well as about the researcher/s in charge, will be added. Symposium 'Universities as Change Agents in Sustainable Development'

We invite you to apply to attend the symposium on this theme that will be held at Tallinn University on 18-19 March 2026. This event will provide a platform for forging new partnerships and co-creating actionable strategies that harness the full potential of universities to address the most pressing ecological, social, and economic challenges of our time. The symposium is organised by two of the BUP National Centres at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and Tallinn University, in collaboration with the BUP. Accepted presenters affiliated with a BUP participating university may apply for a grant to cover the participation fee. The deadline to submit an abstract is 15 December 2025.
